Perfect! Our patio door lock needed to be repaired and eventually replaced. It was an Anderson door from Home Depot that never worked great and that neither the installer nor manufacturer could make work for us 9 years ago following initial installation. It had loose components that I had MacGyvered into working for the first 9 years. This time I couldn't find any way to restore it and was so glad to find Brian at Cityside. He was pleasant and informative by phone and he was prompt and effective in person. He'd had enough experience with problem doors like ours and had a solution ready both times! He has a knack for this work.

I contacted Brian yesterday about getting my locks changed in my new house. I could tell right off the bat that he was not trying to make a dime off of me as he explained rekeying the locks instead of changing out the whole lock. I of course was hoping for the service to be done today as I had the day off. Brian was flexible to make this work!
Unfortunately, the locks on my door are discontinued and they could not be serviced. Brian had two new sets in his truck that he was able to swap my existing ones out for- and were SO much better and durable! He took his time to make sure the locks aligned with closing the door, explained everything in detail, and gave suggestions. I feel safer in my house which is invaluable. His prices were very reasonable though! I would call him again in an instant and recommend his services with no reservations.

I just moved into a new apartment and knew it was only a matter of time before I accidentally locked myself out. Of course, it happened on a Saturday night at around 10pm -- windows were closed and nobody else was home -- so I was truly without a way to get back in.
I called four or five locksmiths in the area and got voicemail after voicemail. I was beginning to think I might have to sleep on my deck when Brian returned my call and said he could be there in fifteen minutes. He arrived quickly and had me in my apartment five minutes later! I was also really grateful that he accepts credit cards.
I hope I never get locked out again, but if I do I will definitely call Brian at Cityside!

I called Brian on a Monday morning and he was able to come by the same afternoon (during a pandemic and severe storms, no less) and get the job done. Great service! Called on Friday and discussed the need to update to two brand new smart locks and needed to have a hole for one lock and needed to have two push locks deactivated. Price was reasonable. Contacted other companies who wanted to charge me an additional $200-$350 more. Brian arrived promptly at 10 am on Saturday and went to work. The smart lock was new to him, but he had it installed quickly and working well. After drilling the hole for the second lock and installing, he made sure that the locks worked before departing. He also vacuumed the shavings from his work. Very pleased and would recommend highly. Glad I contacted their company and received great customer service and a reasonable price. Thanks! My appointment was at 1 PM. Brian rang the bell right on time. He solved what I consider to be a few difficult issues. My (very elderly) aunt loves her front door knob and its decorative faceplate. Brian was able to save it for her which made her day. She was resigned to having a modern lock, but was thrilled that Brian was able to quickly bring her 1900 lock back to life. Quick, clean and creative. 10 stars if I could.

Brian responded quickly to my message and was able to come the next day during my convenient time window to fix a malfunction outdoor lock. It was a complicated job due to bent internals and the need to realign the spot on the frame where the bolt enters, so wasn't fast or cheap but Brian got 'er done nicely. Ever since the management of the building that I have moved to walked inside my unit with out being announced, I've wanted to change the front doors lock. I called several locksmiths from yelp, they all almost had the same answer that I could not rekey unless I changed the entire lock. Cityside was the last person whom I spoke with. He made some recommendations, but living among so many people in a condominium I was not sure if I wanted to go that rout! Instead I decided to change the entire door knobs to the two bedrooms.
I called Brian back who very promptly came at our agreed time. He was both very efficient and knowledgable in his job. The doors would not aline correctly, but he fixed that. In about one hour I had two bedroom doors with locks!
His fees were very reasonable. I had similar work done in Manhattan NY with costing me five times more then I paid Cityside locksmith. The added bonus here was that Brian is a very nice guy, very pleasant and not a creep like the guys from New York. I would definitely use this company and refer their services in the future.

I lost all my keys and needed a replacement key for my 2004 Jetta. It wasn't really an emergency, and my local locksmith's couldn't get to the job for a while, so reached outside my immediate area for quotes.
A 2006 Jetta would be quoted much differently than a 2004, and Brian knew the difference. He was able to provide an accurate quote in a very timely manner and showed a level of knowledge not demonstrated by some of his competitors.

Our dog sitting gig did NOT start out well. We couldn't pick up Goya, the English Bulldog, from her apartment because the battery on the pushbutton lock to the front door was dead and we had no other key. As other Yelpers have said, Brian made the experience as painless as possible. He had to drill out the entire lock, but he had another, better quality model with him in the truck which he installed in its place. Brian saved our day and saved Goya from three hungry days of peeing and pooping in the house!

When calling for an available locksmith, another company actually recommended that I try calling Cityside Locksmith. Owner Brian Davenport answered the phone and came out the same evening to repair a broken deadbolt which had previously been "repaired" by another locksmith the previous year. We had a bunch of locks changed in our home after we moved in, and it was a bit complicated because some doors needed brand new locks / deadbolts / door knobs installed, others just needed to be rekeyed, and overall we wanted to eliminate the 6 or so keys we inherited from the prior owners and just streamline it down to a single key for ease. The guy who did the entire job was terrific. He really knew his stuff, and advised us nicely on quality of the existing hardware, he made good effort to match the existing hardware and so on. He also was fastidious about making the "user experience" of locking and unlocking the doors as non-klugy as possible and went to the trouble of "flipping" over certain locks so we wouldn't have to fidget with our key when trying to get in and out. And he worked quickly which mattered to me because he charges by time, too. My only complaint was that he didn't bring his vacuum with him to vacuum up the wood shavings from installing new hardware so I had to do it. I should mention though, too, that he was also really reasonable and accommodating after I got one of the door configurations wrong - long story - but he came back the next day and fixed it with no hassle. Would DEFINITELY use this company again. Such great competency, professionalism, and customer service.

Super great! I've only had one key for my car since I bought it in 2012, and I finally got around to looking into getting a spare made. I called/visited various hardware stores with no luck; I called Brian and he set up an appointment without a problem. Then, when I had to cancel that appointment last minute because I was stuck at work, he rescheduled it without any problem at all. He re-cut and programmed a new key for my car in about 10 minutes at my house (super convenient!) and he even gave me the "test key" he made for free, so I ended up with the spare I wanted and an extra key to unlock the doors (doesn't start the car, but it'll get me in)! I had bought the blank transponder key online and he cut it, and he told me that if it stopped working (he can't guarantee a key that isn't his, understandably), I could just call him and he'd come cut and program another key for a very, very reasonable rate. Remarkably awesome service and prices far below what dealers and hardware stores wanted, plus with the convenience of it being done at my home around my unpredictable schedule!

I highly recommend this business. I needed a key made over the weekend, so I called a bunch of locksmiths (because I'm new to the area). When I called Cityside Locksmith, (1) I was surprised that he was even open because all other businesses were closed or only made car keys so didn't want to help me, (2) he gave me options of how to deal with my problem the most cost effective way and gave recommendations, and then (3) when I decided on a plan he tried to best accommodate me to get the key I needed!
When I met him, he was respectful, knowledgeable, and quickly got me everything I needed. He cares about his customers and business and it shows. His equipment was recently calibrated, so he was able to make me excellent keys despite the rarity of the item. Lastly, he offers fair pricing.

We were locked out of our studio due to a faulty August lock. I called up and was quoted $135 to get us in, which is less than I’ve paid other locksmiths in the past. The man on the phone said someone would be over in 20 minutes and he arrived exactly then. He quickly opened the lock and gave suggestions for improvements in the door and lock system to prevent it happening again. I was able to pay quickly with a card and was emailed a receipt. I live in apartment building and lost my keys during the last snow storm. So I called Cityside locksmith with the intent of just having him replace my mailbox key. He picked up the phone immediately and scheduled me in without trouble.

I just moved into a new apartment and knew it was only a matter of time before I accidentally locked myself out. Of course, it happened on a Saturday night at around 10pm -- windows were closed and nobody else was home -- so I was truly without a way to get back in.

Ever since the management of the building that I have moved to walked inside my unit with out being announced, I've wanted to change the front doors lock. I called several locksmiths from yelp, they all almost had the same answer that I could not rekey unless I changed the entire lock. Cityside was the last person whom I spoke with. He made some recommendations, but living among so many people in a condominium I was not sure if I wanted to go that rout! Instead I decided to change the entire door knobs to the two bedrooms.
I called Brian back who very promptly came at our agreed time. He was both very efficient and knowledgable in his job. The doors would not aline correctly, but he fixed that. In about one hour I had two bedroom doors with locks!
His fees were very reasonable. I had similar work done in Manhattan NY with costing me five times more then I paid Cityside locksmith. We had a bunch of locks changed in our home after we moved in, and it was a bit complicated because some doors needed brand new locks / deadbolts / door knobs installed, others just needed to be rekeyed, and overall we wanted to eliminate the 6 or so keys we inherited from the prior owners and just streamline it down to a single key for ease. The guy who did the entire job was terrific. He really knew his stuff, and advised us nicely on quality of the existing hardware, he made good effort to match the existing hardware and so on. He also was fastidious about making the "user experience" of locking and unlocking the doors as non-klugy as possible and went to the trouble of "flipping" over certain locks so we wouldn't have to fidget with our key when trying to get in and out. And he worked quickly which mattered to me because he charges by time, too. My only complaint was that he didn't bring his vacuum with him to vacuum up the wood shavings from installing new hardware so I had to do it. I should mention though, too, that he was also really reasonable and accommodating after I got one of the door configurations wrong - long story - but he came back the next day and fixed it with no hassle. Would DEFINITELY use this company again. Such great competency, professionalism, and customer service.

Super great! I've only had one key for my car since I bought it in 2012, and I finally got around to looking into getting a spare made. I called/visited various hardware stores with no luck; I called Brian and he set up an appointment without a problem. Then, when I had to cancel that appointment last minute because I was stuck at work, he rescheduled it without any problem at all. He re-cut and programmed a new key for my car in about 10 minutes at my house (super convenient!) and he even gave me the "test key" he made for free, so I ended up with the spare I wanted and an extra key to unlock the doors (doesn't start the car, but it'll get me in)! I had bought the blank transponder key online and he cut it, and he told me that if it stopped working (he can't guarantee a key that isn't his, understandably), I could just call him and he'd come cut and program another key for a very, very reasonable rate. Remarkably awesome service and prices far below what dealers and hardware stores wanted, plus with the convenience of it being done at my home around my unpredictable schedule!

I highly recommend this business. I needed a key made over the weekend, so I called a bunch of locksmiths (because I'm new to the area). When I called Cityside Locksmith, (1) I was surprised that he was even open because all other businesses were closed or only made car keys so didn't want to help me, (2) he gave me options of how to deal with my problem the most cost effective way and gave recommendations, and then (3) when I decided on a plan he tried to best accommodate me to get the key I needed!

Brian arrived on time and even though had never seen my smart door locks was able to install in the time frame given. Also, had time to tighten another door. After he finished, he vacuumed before leaving and I was very pleased with his service! Other companies wanted to charge an additional $200-$300 more.
